I like news but American news is trash. I block all communities that are dedicated to US News but I'd love it if people wouldn't post US news to "world"
lemmy.ml removed the c/politics because is basically c/usa like the c/politics in lemmy.world
i think /c/politics@lemmy.ml was removed due to redundancy with /c/worldnews@lemmy.ml more than /c/usa@lemmy.ml.
that's not to say it couldn't be a place for non-news-related political discussions, but in practice it mostly got posts which would fit in worldnews.
it could be restored if one or more users with a good history wants to take responsibility for moderating it.
What that have to do with "Too much american spam."?
They removed c/politics and keep c/usa.

Ok what's your suggestion? Rate limit American signups so you can have your adorable little euro echo chamber where you can sip espresso without having to be reminded about your young upstart overseas cousin that is doing so much better than you at nearly everything?
That's everyone? There is no land that is not stained with the blood of a culture conquered for a better equipped, more organized culture. Not a single inch.

Isn't LW managed by Dutch people?
Lemmy.world is overwhelmingly American, which is the point they are making. Managers being Dutch or not doesn't change the demographics.
