95% of celebrity news has always been that meaningless. It isn't an age thing, as even when I understand the headlines, they just aren't important. Even if I'm interested in what the celebrity is up to because I like their work, those stories are about inane bullshit that doesn't even matter to the celebrity themselves.

The important news happens irregularly and outside of their control, so the news companies create trash to pad dull moments in between. The same is true with all news, as important shit gets passed over to boost filler for more profitable topics. I often see nothing important on news websites, only to find seriously important stories from those same websites buried under the trash from third-parties.

There are gruntflips reported on at all levels. It isn't really new anywhere.
