Yes, good point, but I still wish people asked less ambiguous and vague questions. I don't know, my mind just goes blank for a moment there.
I know this. I'd be like, "oh shit a smalltalker ..."
What works for me is to start talking about what hapened to me. Similar to what @branchial@feddit.de suggests in this thread. That also gives the other an immediate choice if they want to engage so deeply with you. But you might also expose yourself too much.
