This is just generally why ideology is important and anti-realism is dangerous. If you don't have any actual beliefs then this kind of conflict resolution is way too deceptively attractive.

Yeah. And that doesn’t mean you can’t be a moderate. Multiple moderates sacrificed their careers for the haymarket martyrs. But you have to actually believe in something and that some things are unacceptable. Tactics are valuable but it’s a valuable tactic to get your opponents thinking so tactically they give up their goals
