I too went dry herb for a long time, even have a Mighty+ that I really enjoyed, the thing about the pens though... Much less smell, much more stealthy, and one cart can last very long in comparison to dry herb.
In a non-legal state, pen is just safer imo
But yes, stay away from black market as much as you can
