Why do I see a GitHub advertisement scroll into view in Wefwef when swiping to mark a post as read? (lemm.ee)

Because it’s a bug. You opened a GitHub website in the in-app browser before. The banner should disappear but atm it only hides, and often not very well, as you see 🐭

I don’t know if it has been reported, but I surely have seen it myself! Maybe check their GitHub and open an issue? If you feel like it 😘

I did not see an issue raised so I created a new one. Hopefully it's not a duplicate!
