Prepare for every single minor tech problem he has to become your problem. You'll spend more time helping him than doing your own job. This may or may not be downside, depending on how much you like your job.

Yeah, if he's still working at "like 100," he's either passionate about the work or needs the job because someone stole his retirement. Either way, he's not going to be pushing the boundaries.
