I've been using RIF and old.reddit.com for as long as they existed. Reddit since the big Digg transition. Hope to never see the same happen to Lemmy!!
The magic here is that it can't happen. People can just start their own instance up and it's all open source.
If lemmy.ca ever turns evil, you can create your own Lemmy, with blackjack, and hookers..
Or just go to one of many others
