I've tried several different guides and scripts and always ran into issues. This was the first one that actually worked rather well for me so if anyone is running into issues, give this a try!

This is cool for a personal instance, although it may use some improvement; not sure why the extra *:8448 vhost is set when is just proxying to localhost:8008 anyways. May I know what's wrong with the Synapse documentation, since the extra thing the script covers is nginx + letsencrypt.
