We should not let google take over the internet
It works just as well as chrome
It has proper vertical tab extensions, like tree style tabs
It doesn't work well. I tried switching some days ago and the dns doesn't work, it won't let me visit ๐ดโโ ๏ธ websites. I immediately deinstalled it again. I keep using opera gx
Do you really think that FireFox DNS is broken and you're the only person who noticed?
Idk seems like it. My ISP is censoring some websites and I can only visit them by using the DNS from cloudfare or Google. On Firefox this does not work, on Opera gx it does.
When some thing doesn't behave the way you expect it to, trying to understand it's behavior will take you a lot further than just saying it doesn't work.
Bro there are only 3 options for dns in Firefox:
No dns, use Firefox dns and custom dns.
Neither Firefox dns nor custom dns work as intended.
I am not going to reverse engineer the whole browser, if I can just use a working one.
I just checked, there is no simple DNS settings in firefox...
I have no idea what you were doing, maybe you tried to set up a Proxy?
There is DNS over HTTPS setting under Privacy & Security, where you can set up Cloudflare, NextDNS or Custom DNS. This works for me, but if you set this to "Max Protection", a lot of sites will not work, which is not firefox's fault.
You really should set the primary DNS in your router's settings, but if that's not possible (sometimes it's not an option), then the second best is to set it in your device's network settings.
I don't know about browsers DNS settings as I've never used them before (I didn't even realoze that's a thing).
If your ISP's DNS server is bad though, I suggest you modify the DNS settings in your network adapter. That way, every applocation will work better, not just one browser.
The dns of my ISP is not bad, my ISP is censoring ๐ดโโ ๏ธ websites like bs.to or s.to
I have to use the DNS from cloudfare or Google to be able to access the websites which does not work in Firefox. If I setup the dns settings in Firefox and then try to access the websites then Firefox just says that the dns service from Firefox could not be reached.
Using the exact same settings in Opera GX does work, that's why I will stick to Opera GX.
