You're right though, that our winter is a lot warmer than yours. As others have noted though, we're not set up for it. I've heard from (Nordic) Europeans and Canadians who have said that the day-to-day experience of winter is actually worse here than in their homeland, because of a lack of good insulation and household heating in most homes.
