They used to make appliances from the same pinkish kind of plastic back then. Or sometimes it was white initially but had been turning yellowish-pinkinsh with time. Both things existed in parallel.
Probably thanks to my kitchen counter. I has a little bit of an oldschool vibe to it.
Because of the flash.
Flash use was a lot more prevalent in the compact camera age.
