I'll start: I love listening to the washing machine running. Relaxing, sounds like hard work I don't have to do. Looking forward to the clean clothes and nice smell! Sewing machine sound makes me all giddy. Sound of my 1988 car engine.

I find chain saws and brushcutters extremely annoying. On some days in spring and autumn I can get quite grumpy about it, even though I rationally know they also save a lot of hard work.

I love the sound of old harddrives. At least the ones that have some low grumbling and clicking, not the ones with a high-pitched whine due to failing bearings.

The sound of old tapedecks and reel-to-reels is also pretty nice.

And the sound a Zippo makes when you open and close it.

+1 for clicky HDDs! I grew up with an iMac G3 and the hard drive in that thing was so resonant. I imagined it was the sounds of little men in the computer scrambling to do work whenever I opened a program or file.

Glorious clicking
