A childfree community... we are literally just slowly recreating reddit...
Lemmy is literally an open source reddit clone, so... yes? That isn't a take of any temperature, no matter how you slice it.
That's before getting into the fact that plenty of people decide not to have children in the real world. That's not a "reddit" thing. They already endure plenty enough scorn and ridicule over it from society writ large. That's how I'm going to phrase it without going into detail describing the types of people who feel it's acceptable to deride others for their choice of lifestyle. You are familiar with reality, right?
I swear to god if another person asks me when I'm having kids or has that tone when telling others I don't have kids I'm just gonna ask them unless they plan on inventing time travel to steal my sperm and my spouse's eggs, that's never happening and if I want advice on when or where to fuck I'll ask them, otherwise they can keep their comments questions and advice on my sex life to themselves.
I never wanted kids, and it's literally impossible now even if I did want to.
Most of the people I grew up with are religious so I assume I get it more than people who grew up outside of religious influence.
Why do people suck so much? Idk if its because im a guy or my social circles dont suck, but ive never been asked when i was going to get married, settled down, or have kids. Not by family or friends. And if they did ask me, it was so infrequent that i have literally no memory of it

And Im gonns keep it 💯 with you: You actually have EVERY right to respond with EVERY type of anger to a person who asks you about what you plan on doing with you or your partner's gonads. Youre an adult. And as an adult You Should Have The Right To Bodily Autonomy. His Body? His Choice. Her Body? Her Choice. Their Body? Their Choice. End of story. If you dont plan on having kids? who gives a fucking fuck? And who has the right to give a fuck? Ill you who you cant give a fuck: other adults.
One of the worst things abiut humanity is that most humans lie to themselves and they tell themselves that in our current world that 'All Humans Have The Right To Bodily Autonomy.'....anyone with a half working brain cell knows this isnt true at all. One proof of this is that people are always peer pressuring others to have as msny kids as possible even if the person doesnt want to. Or even if they are unable to. We've all read stories od adults being shamed and osteacized becausr they cant produce children, right?
The desire to not have kids should be reason enough to not pester a person e anymore about having kids ever.
Even if it weren't already a reddit-like FOSS platform from the start, intentionally, I don't see having a child free community as a bad thing, or even "reddit-like". Everyone likes having a place to vent about the way others treat them, regardless of child-having status. People who visit child free pages usually have negative interactions involving people with children, or things they are excluded from for not having children. People WITH children like visiting pages where they vent about things they're excluded from FOR having children.
Luckily, if you don't like a community, you can simply block it instead of leaving pithy negative comments about the subject matter.
This community has been here much longer than you have been.
But this time without centralized authority
