Whether it's five minutes or thirty, late is late. If you're going to be late, at least arrive prepared.
Totally disagree that being five minutes late is the same thing as thirty. One is barely noticeable, the other seems disrespectful of other's time unless you've got a good reason.
Not shitting yourself is a good reason.
Which just makes it not disrespectful. Still pretty big difference.
