Hades 2 runs at 4K 60fps, and the only place I've seen it lag is the Crossroads (the hub area, presumably because it's larger than the actual levels)
Good stuff. I don’t have Hades 2, but I assume Hades has comparable performance. I’ll give it another try this weekend.
Hades 1 was one of the poster children for the Deck at launch so I'd expect it to have pretty good performance, but I played it before I got mine so I can't confirm. If you enjoyed 1 then you'll probably enjoy 2, it's more of what you like!
I actually don’t have super strong opinions on Hades. Maybe it’s just because I have played gacha games with roguelike features, but it’s kind of frustrating to me to not be able to pick my build and properly level up or anything like that.
I’ll revisit Hades 1 this weekend and see if my opinion has changed, however.
I can't speak for any gatcha games, but the appeal of roguelikes for me is that I can pick up the game, play a run, experience something new, and then be done; very handy when you don't know how long or how frequently you're going to be able to play. In-game experience is replaced by getting better at the game as you understand how it works etc. It's fine not to like that though, they're definitely not for everyone.
The try/die/repeat thing is what got me hooked on Elden Ring for a while. Maybe I’ll enjoy Hades more this time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
