Sometimes I wish I had the ADHD diagnosis to explain my lack of attention. My SO can't take it anymore especially given she interprets it as a hit to her worth in my eyes.
Im gonna skip to the end of this story for you. The diagnosis won't help here. You are gonna have to communicate out of this and a "Aha see I have an ADHD diagnosis so now your feelings are invalid!" Wont get you as far as you think it will.
I don't know your situation but ultimately my problem was solved by getting another partner who understands me better. I hope you can get her to understand you better
Yeah we are an old couple now (4 kids 13-19) and it's not perfect but we grew a lot over time. (I used to forget dates on prior relationships) I'm not here for advice or a diagnosis, I've always been of the mindset that we can create better habits and improve our lackings. Just sharing and I guess venting a little because it's harder for me than it is for her. (And probably a lot harder for some of y'all)
There's a simple written test to see if you have it, go get tested
