Mine is actually in a toilet cubby in my garage, it's the only part of the garage that's heated and it's mostly separate from the mess I make in the rest of the space. But I do blow it out with compressed air semi-regularly because its still less than ideal.

It was convenient though because it's on the other side of a wall shared by my entertainment center, so it was easy to cut holes and put in keystone plates on both sides.
