A labour friendly government would outlaw the practice so unions wouldn't have to waste money and effort fighting this obviously unacceptable bullshit. Wish we had one!

It's ridiculous that the government didn't get to work on fixing this last year after Air Canada's flight attendants went on strike over the same thing.

Air Canada's flight attendants union went on strike last summer when contract negotiations weren't working, and West Jet's flight attendants union didn't start contract negotiations until later in the year.
