Indeed. "We all have to deal with some discomfort from time to time" lands like a shit-covered bowling ball when the thing that is causing the discomfort is the person demanding you engage in arbitrary social scripts for the sake of their power play. Telling someone to suck it up when "it" is "interacting with me on my terms, not yours" is just bullying.
I can't imagine dropping into a discussion and just telling everyone to accept your toxic behaviour, because raisins.
