Interesting, the startup costs would be much larger; however considering there is less wear this investment will pay off quite quickly.
Relatedly, something I've long suspected since flying over California: Solar on canals reduces water evaporation by 70%
Yeah makes sense, I really love how solar tends to be complimentary with environmental preservation. As the world gets hotter, creating more shaded areas will be useful.
