Oh, that's hilarious.
Not only are data centres a legitimate target due to being used by the military, they're also a relatively small building filled with very valuable, very fragile equipment. So, if you want to cause significant problems for your enemy, they just make sense as a target.
Added benefit that it's not a school, hospital, or place of religious worship.
All the more reason not to put these in residential areas...
But if we use human shields we can protect capital!
All the more reason to pull compute and storage back to on prem
