MODERATORS
I think most of the people on the blocklist are not people I want to talk to. But you can fuck off if you're going to put that shit in a public client. Let people manage what they want to see by themselves.
They put in blahaj in its entirety and that instance is a good 90% the people I ever want to talk to.
The instances, according to his rambling post, were blocked because of admin stances on violence. I'm sure you've seen violent posts on Lemmy calling for people to be Luigid or whatever.
Similar to my stance on individuals, I think that stuff crosses a line and needs to be removed from the fediverse, but again it's not the place of a front-end developer to enforce that, especially not by muting the entire instance.
I think if he's right about instance admins, there's an argument to use the existing mechanism (defederation) which won't make me very popular, but hopefully clarifies where I stand.
