This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.
Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)
This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

- We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (
text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"
- See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
- You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
- We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

and possibly even CP sharing quite often. Looks like those chat rooms aren't moderated at all and are becoming a ground for criminal activity. I, and I'm sure many of us as well, would really despise it if law enforcement took the problem in their hands and took down the only free and limitless AI generation site. Comments need to be either moderated or shut down, otherwise this site is at risk. Perchance is all about AI, so you could at least install some AI filter to check messages in the chat if you can't do anything else.
People here tend to mass downvote posts for some reason, no matter what it is: Bug reporting, question asking, anything.
And yes, this place is really just a downvote circlejerk.
This is why I unsubscribed from this and am moving from AI services. I swear, when I get all of my friends on perchance to move to Stoat, I'll leave that CP scumbag site forever.

Hahaha, no. My dumbass brain just got its hopes up that Stoat is an AI similar to Perchance, and wanted to ask, and then I just googled it and realized it's a Discord type thing.
I'm as pissed at the dev as you are, and even more for endangering a site I value.

Does it only have a chat? Does it have image gen? Does it have limitations? Or censorship?
It has both image and chat. Plus a story generator. It has limitations, yes, but it's, like, messages per minute only and for frre accounts. Censorship, not that I know yet.
Is it only an app, no site?
Both site and app.
How to get credits?
There isn't a credits system. Max there is is a "messages per minute limit" for free accounts. But said limit isn't this abusive, it's big as enough so I didn't know about it until someone posted on it.
Is your account paid?
Have you tried to generate images? It doesn't let me, says I don't have enough credits.
No, I have a free one, I don't have a job yet.
Hmm, may be different for images. I never used the image function to be honest so... Maybe ask at the Hammer AI Reddit? (I'm still trying to convince them to have a Lemmy one but for now they're still on Reddit)

Well, they say they are privacy-leaning, might aswell have a privacy-leaning community. Also, Reddit is turning into Not Asked For AI Land.

Actually, I think it's some dev bootlicker. The dev doesn't do shit on the website except putting it down for changes nobody asked for, yet any reports about problems (it causes) on the website will get downvoted. Good job on opening the case, don't listen to those downvotes.
Yep, some dev bootlicker defending their zero-fucks attitude just because they're a single person or whatever.
Like come on, shutting comments down shouldn't be that much of a probem. When shit gets out of hand to this level, things need to be done. Regardless of how tired or busy you are.
Finally, someone that thoughtful. I think the issue is some of us got friends in the comments section, so... The best would be giving it better moderation.
Human moderation is really too much to ask for, AI moderation - I dunno. Considering the dev's indifference, best would probably be to get rid of it.
According to one of thse CP senders themselves, the AI moderation (revealed by @saveperchance to be a mere word filter) in the website is really weak. For an example, you can circumvent it by typing CP instead of Child (I ain't typing the entire thing.).
That's not AI, it's just a basic word filter. That's never going to do shit cause you're always able to circumvent it by censoring or saying it in another way.
Thanks for the correction. I'll edit my coment. And also, mass reports also can get someone banned. So you can just click report on every message someone sends and they will be banned in no time.
Still, that doesn't 1) delete the message, 2) prevent them from being written in the first place, 3) prevent them from doing whatever they want until they get banned. Isn't it crap.
