From a purely legal standpoint, purchasing from GoG is still only purchasing a license for a game, no different from Steam, Epic, any other online game storefront, and no different from buying physical.

It's true that GoG is exactly like Steam is exactly like buying a physical disk, but none of those things are "licenses!" In all of the cases, you are buying an individual copy of the game, not "licensing" a damn thing! It's exactly the same as buying any other piece of media going all the way back to paper books, and nobody (honest and sane) is trying to bullshit us about those being "licensed."

"Licensed, not sold" is 100% a lie in service of the copyright cartel.
