You might be over-reacting a bit.
I've had dogs that had no problems with fireworks - and one lab that would try and chase them if not kept on-leash - and dogs that are terrified of them. If the dog isn't afraid of fireworks then it's like any other public situation... keep your dog on-leash and don't take them out at all if they are a risk to others.
