Everyone in power decided it was easier to genocide an entire race live in front of everyone (with the full support of the media and every weapons company on the planet) or by crashing the petrodollar by closing off a fifth of the world's supply to distract from the fact that every single person on the planet has been manipulated by a cabal of satanistic pedo billionaires.
And it worked. Everyone got distracted and it was left to a few vocal people to keep saying 'where is the other 5 terabytes of files?'
