scratch that off the list.

all they need for global tech supremacy now is semiconductors, right?

i don't recall them being behind on anything else.

If they made their language easier to learn, I would. Right now, the idea of memorising a billion symbols doesn't seem appealing at all.

i tried with japanese, got to 200 symbols, then lost interest.

iirc children are expected to know 1200 symbols by the age of 12.
