Even if I didn't take into account the privacy implications, I'm way too lazy to take my phone and scan a QR just to access a random website. I'll just avoiding visiting it, unless I really need it (e.g., government websites).
I think this is one of the goals, to depress tradition web traffic more and funnel people to Gemini
Same I skip even Cloudflares captcha half the time because I find the delay annoying. I'm not getting my phone out to get to a website it's stupid.
Agree, but the problem are not random pages. As you said, if you need to access the page for administrative or professional reasons, you are pretty fucked up.
That's employers problem, it's an issue with their devices.
there is still the possibility to access those websites from a PC or Laptop, no? so i won't access them on my phone (which i generally try to avoid for work or professional related stuff anyway)
No. It presents the captcha on your PC, then you need to scan the QR code from your phone.
Well, if there are no workarounds there's nothing I can do apart from scanning the damn QR.
