This is why I think large open source projects like this should add a small amount of "pay to play" to code contributions.
Just something small like the equivalent of $2USD per contribution for your first 5 contributions to gatekeep the genAI "people" out. Did they vibe code something? Would they really be okay spending the money just to be insta-banned from contributing in the future?
Not the best solution by a long shot, but how else would you stop the slop besides making it economically unfavorable for genAI "people" to contribute?
Or just go the Debian route of apprentice then graduate to full maintainer.
