I don't see what people see in him tbh. He's kinda meh as a political commentator for the celebrity status he has. It's interesting how the left will circle the wagons around him like no other. But collargate did seem signal boosted.
He's accessible, I'm not into his content but I see the appeal. As for the parasociality many people have with him, it's possible he was the beginning of their radicalization. I don't know enough about Hasan to engage one way or another.
