While I get what you are saying I would argue that the Americans that are leaving and becoming immigrants aren't the shitty Americans that would never think of such a thing.
True, it's the educated that leave. People who have traveled outside the country.
PHD /md specifically fled like years ago, they are smart enough to know winds changed at the beginning .
Two ways you get to leave this country “easily”:
unattached with little to lose. Go work abroad and establish residency. Cost of the plane ticket to get there.
lots of money. Buy a golden visa.
For the rest of us it’s a major undertaking with lots of sacrifice, upheaval, risk, and difficulty.
(Yes, this is a simplification and there are exceptions, but for the most part this is true)
