Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Israelis have been actively slaughtering innocent women and children in Palestine for years now with the public cheering on, they have started an unprovoked war with Iran by bombing a school killing 150 little girls. This is just a tiny sample of Israel's recent crimes. Is it any wonder the world has little sympathy for them? About the same amount that we had for the Nazis after all of their war crimes. Get fucked Israel, go eat several bags of dicks.
Only good nazi is a dead nazi. A decade from now I'll be making a toast to the heroes who finally shot back at isreal.
Won't SOMEBODY think of the genociders????
Or alternatively "You are too mean to the fascists."
I'd rather Iran be killing soldiers than innocent too, but I understand why people can't get but feel this way at this point. There's been literally zero justice against Israel, and it's so extreme what they've gotten away with, that I fully understand the schnaudenfreude many will be feeling at seeing Israel seeing any form of repercussions at this point.
That a overwhelming majority of the population isn't strongly against their government doesn't help either.
So while you do have a point, it would kind of be like trying to shame lgbtq+ people for being happy an apartment in Berlin got bombed during WW2... Especially considering we are essentially in WW3, in great part started by Israel, who is also currently trying another genocide run in Lebanon now.
I wish it happened another way (say, by the missile hitting its intended target), but in general it's a good thing for Israelis to know they're not invincible.
Why? Because fuck them, thats why.
You find it weird people are cheering for an evil country getting bombed?
Because they're Israeli? And a large majority of Isrealis support whats being done to Iran? If you're a Jew who still chooses to live there then its your own fucking fault if you get killed. They have literally EVERY opportunity in the world to leave their colonial paradise.
You could say the same about the United States could you not? News flash: relocation when your broke in a shit, war ravaged economy is difficult to put it mildly.
The USA’s first target in Iran was a school for girls.
The USA’s first target was to kill civilians.
If you’re cheering the the USA in any of this, you’re cheering for death. No one is defending what the Iranian government has done to their civilians. But it’s not the USA’s job to be the world police, bomb little girls trying to get an education, tank the global oil economy, and send their own citizens to die in an illegal war.
Maybe take a step back. I’m queer, married to a trans person. Palestine doesn’t support me or my right to live. I don’t care I would prefer to take the higher ground in thinking Palestinians deserve a right to live.
Iran was uprising over their own government. Now they don’t have power, food is limited, and their govenment is still killing them while the USA bombs their schools.
Fucking great alternative.
Just to put the scale of this into context, the strike on the girl's school wasn't the first thing they did, those three strikes were among the first 700 strikes carried out on day one (1200 in the first 36 hours).
Same. But people want to feel righteous I guess and celebrating civilian victims is an outlet for that.
It's amazing how quickly leftists support was crimes so long as the victims are "the right people".
I'm also amazed at how quickly you blame leftists based on one person's comment that gave no indication that they are a leftist.
So you're making assumptions based on your flawed and biased experience instead of factual data. Got it. I expected that given the quality of comment you provided above.
"Trust me bro" is neither an acceptable source nor an acceptable form of birth control...though it appears to be working for the women nearest you.
lol fuck right off with this shit.
Are the leftists in the room with you right now?
I suppose I don't really know why I engage with willfully ignorant dumbasses. It's just that it feels wrong to leave the really fucking stupidly wrong comments with no reply. I know it won't break through the ignorance. They're living in their own little alternate reality, ignoring everything that doesn't fit into their little constructed worldview, attacking everyone who is actually trying to make the world a better place.
But I guess it makes me feel better to speak up against the stupidity, even though it's useless. Because if we don't, these idiots will dominate the conversation and it will end up with more people going down that path.
It's like the anecdote of the bar where the guy is at the bar having a drink. Another guy walks in, goes up to the bar and orders a drink. Bartender tells him to get out. New guy says, "Hey, I just want to have a drink and relax, man." Bartender has none of it, tells him to get out and never come back. New guy leaves, and our original guy asks the bartender about it, to which the bartender replies: "That guy had a swastika tattoo. He was a nazi. And the thing is, he probably would have been polite and had a drink and maybe even made friendly conversation. But the thing about nazis: Once he realized he was allowed here, he'd start bringing his other nazi friends. Once you let one of them in and stay, you become a nazi bar."
It's a little glurgy, and maybe it never happened or maybe it's happened a hundred times..... that's the thing about anecdotes like that.
But the underlying principle is sound.
If we let these fucking fascists take over the conversation, soon this place will be no better than /r/the_donald or /r/conservative or Truth Social or any of the other places fascists congregate.
So I guess that's why I speak up.
But I don't really try to change their stupid opinions, because there's no fucking point. All I really would like to see is for them to shut the fuck up and stop pissing all over the conversation.
They made themselves the right people with the genocide they support. 5 years ago it was a different story. But 100,000+ Palestinians later, I have no sympathy for Israelis. FAFO
Full support for you. Cheering for killed civilians should not be tolerated.
Some people love dead Jews.
We love to supremacists who setup camping chairs and bring snacks to watch children be bombed by their supremacists military finally face consequences of the terror they've inflicted on so many nations and taste a tiny bit of their own medicine, and they happen to identify as Jews.
Israelis meanwhile unapologetically love watching "Arabs" die at their hands.
I don't.
But it sure is a little fucking difficult to have a lot of sympathy for fewer than two hundred INJURED Jews when Israel has murdered way more than 20,000 Palestinians - countless instances of running them over alive with bulldozers or tanks, crushing them alive in the treads, or just shooting random kids.
Little fucking difficult to feel too much sympathy there.
Must be """anti-zionism""" again.
It's a common Israeli talking point to associate any critique of their government with antisemitism.
It's very transparent.
It's the same people acting as mouthpieces that are silent when Israel actually targets hospitals or their soldiers torture babies and rape prisoners. Hard to pretend they aren't the ones indoctrinated to hate a specific set of people.
Your hate towards anyone that isnt subservient to Israel has turned a massively shitty theocratic regime into some kind of weird underdog worth cheering for.
It's like if Italy and Germany were fighting in WW2 and you dont understand why people are cheering on Italy, but even more, you actually think the Nazis are the good guys. Everyone else is simply going "they both suck but one is clearly worse than the other, because of the genocide and all".
Put all the quotes that you like but you are either against Zionism or pro genocide.
