Iran is a fortress.
Well there is that, but Afghanistan has mountains and Vietnam has jungle...I wasn't sure if those three are comparable obstacles.
Yeah I don't consider them competing. They are all obstacles, and history supports all of them as good examples of things which challenge an invading force to an extraordinary degree.
