Generally it's someone who glorifies authoritarian regimes like China and Russia despite their obvious issues with human rights
The number of memes and comments I see complaining about Tankies massively outnumber the posts I see that "glorify authoritarian regimes".
What I do see a lot is spurious accusations of being a tankie over pretty much anything short of full-throated support of Team Neoliberalism.
Might have something to do with your instance being defederated from some of their largest instances.
But yes you're right about spurious accusations. There are reactionaries no matter where we are. But the other commenter was right too, it used to be much worse.

A lot of people talking about it likely have older accounts who have been here since the beginning when it was on fuller display. Plenty of defederation has happened since then and people are handling the issue in their own way I guess.

The absolute crusade from .world and now piefed to label anything to the left of Ronald Reagan as a tankie has been a bummer over the last year or two.
