With Discord announcing age verification globally, people are searching for alternatives. But a Discord alternative on the open social web might just look structurally quite different.

No audio/screen sharing, incredibly basic community or "space" customisation tools. No roles.

Audio/screensharing: But that’s just not true? Matrix has perfect voice and screen sharing. We tried it a while ago, and it worked better than, if not as good as discord.
