My country heavily uses Facebook for all events. Sadly I can't find cool events without it. Even leftist groups are heavily on Meta, which I can't understand....

Does anyone have experience pushing to get communities off of Meta? Suggestions?

What plateform do you use to replace Facebook ? Signal groups?

I’m trying to convince people around me little by little to join me on alternatives left and right. (Easier said then done) Still gotta get some self hosting going.

Fb style networking in particular. I dunno man, I don’t know if I still want to be out there for anyone to find, companies to sell my data, …

Fb initially was a fun way to rediscover old contacts but really, it became more of aan annoyance to me than anything.

Lemmy is fun because you decide the content you get and it’s to the point. No extra bs, just txt and some pics.

Yes the issue with the Facebook format is that the Fediverse alternatives aren't that polished. Friendica's UI/UX is not optimal.

Ah call me crazy, I actually prefer the more terminal styled look of Lemmy.
