Should I actually use telegram? (lemmy.ml)

I made telegram and i wanted to be sure Its safe and usable for chatting. Id like to give It between the contacts but idk since It has my phone Number and i put the @ in my profile. In the setting my Number Is hidden to others but idk ik not sure if i should use It or Just keep It for some groups.

What do you think?

As far as I know the only issue is that you need to keep getting the code from the original telegram client because they won't validate your account the via phone or email.
