I thought this was a women only community why is a male author being promoted? Shouldn't we focus on our own authors and creatives?

[-] PaupersSerenade@startrek.website 31 points 3 weeks ago

A) no single author is being promoted, and based off of the pfp the poster in the screenshot is female. B) it’s making fun of a writing style often seen used by male authors

I just don't think it's helpful and it's a disservice to stereotype an entire group of authors. What if everyone judged female authors on say the bigotry of current day conservative Americans. Or the evil that wrote Harry Potter?

You should take a few writing classes yourself. What even is this sentence?

What if everyone judged female authors on say the bigotry of current day conservative Americans.

No one's sterotyping shit. We're making fun of a trope. Why don't you stop low-effort trolling and get down to breasting boobily with the rest of us?

Your comment is 🤢. Personal attacks now, you're giving the ick. Thanks have a great day.

My comment was awesome and you know it. You have a great day, too.

Ah. I spotted it too late and responded. You're one of those. The kind who look for any possible excuse to be offended for the offence to trigger whatever chemical high is released when you get offended. Like those people who are literally addicted to chili peppers, only way more obnoxious.

Buh-bye. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Funniest comment of this whole thread.

Please feel free to share stuff about creative women, we love to hear about them! This post is looking at patriarchy and misogyny in writing

Do you think it was just having fun when the male author chose to write about his mother and sisters in this way?

[-] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 weeks ago

That's literally the whole point. Male authors aren't "having fun" when they write about woman like this, all women. They write women in derogatory and ridiculous ways, but they're being serious about it. We ridicule this writing style, because that takes away its ability to be used seriously, any longer. We are laughing at the people who are so poor at describing women, they shouldn't be called authors. It's calling on them to be better. I understand it can cause anger to see, it gave me, and probably others those emotions, first, too. There is no better clap down, though, than ridiculing someone's work, who attempt to be serious and attempts to portray themselves as good at a thing they're obviously failing hard, at.

[-] frizzo@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

I got it so you don't want to be better than them or to help them understand you just want to be just like them.

[-] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 weeks ago

Aww, look at you trying to twist my words to mean things that haven't been said. Go troll somewhere else. I don't talk to people who don't operate in good faith. You are either incredibly stupid or malicious.

[-] frizzo@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

Nothing brings everyone together like a conversation including personal attacks thanks for proving my point. Have a nice day.

[-] Wren@lemmy.today 8 points 3 weeks ago

As a writer? Yes. Writing is fun.
