Apologies if this sounds silly but i was wondering if openshot or shotcut are good video editors especially for someone starting out on video editing for the first time, the type of videos i might plan on making is either general gaming videos or YTPs (hopefully y'all know what that is).

I have also considered kdenlive and davinci resolve aswell (i will not discuss davinci since that ain't open source).

Out of curiosity, i was also wondering y'alls thoughts on shotcut or openshot (and probably kdenlive).

I'll be waiting for responses, Thanks!

Haven‘t used openshot or shotcut but I have tried kdenlive and I found it to be perfectly adequate with a fairly nice and user friendly interface. What makes you unsure about it?

I remember someone said they had an issue where kdenlive crashed for them or something like that and it made me think kdenlive is prone to crashes so that was why i was unsure.

Now that i think about it, i wonder if it was just a problem occurring to them for some reason.

(Edited the post aswell too.)

I use kdenlive and its great, but if you have low ram like me, make sure to save and reopen the project to clear up older clips from ram. I also reopen the project before rendering. Perhaps there is a better approach, but i have found this to work and prevent crashes.
