I think an already established player like Sync or Boost should provide an experience that hand holds newcomers, by leaving little to guess work.

My guess is that this will lead to instances specifically for certain app signups. I'm on liftoff - there's so many things where it defaults to @lemmy.world and I have to manually change it to my instance every time. Newbies would likely have to be placed in a default instance if they want handholding.
