5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.

Internet slang for a communist.
Not just a communist. A tankie is a person who says they like leftist policy and ideals but then go on to honor authoritarians who used leftist language to secure their power. See: leninism, maoism, all the fools constantly praising China while crapping on the US, all the fools sucking off the USSR even though it was never socialist...
They're generally immature and under-educated buffoons who think they like leftist policy but still have such a pathetically tiny understanding of authority, governance, and policy that they'll praise authoritarians in one breath and claim to actually be an anarchist in the next.

Even 80 year olds can be immature twats (and sometimes especially so), so not sure what your angle is here.
I love getting called uneducated by people who used to hold the same position as I did in the past. The only reason I don't still believe what they do, is because of my critical thinking skills and access to a library card....
And yet somehow those supposed critical thinking skills and that access to a library card apparently completely failed to clue you in to the simple fact that communism and authoritarianism are mutually exclusive.
Umm no, I actually read theory and primary sources, not just capitalist propaganda and hearsay, nice try though...

It took me 40 years of reading thousands of books and even more newspaper articles to get to where I am now.
Despite what you say it is still internet slang for a commie, facts don't care about your feelings...
lol it's pejorative slang with extra connotation... It is, in fact, not the same word as communism. Learn what words mean, scrub.
Problem here is the tankies so derided here have feelings that don't care about facts.
These are folks who consider China, N. Korea, and Russia to be ideal havens of the workers, regardless of any contrasting data.
I've never once heard a tankie espouse those ideas except in regards to China, which is a haven for workers compared to the USA....
Your personal ignorance proves nothing except how pathetic you are for acting so confidant while admittedly not having much experience...
