I tried to make a situation which is artificially hard to guess.
Study don't be a donkey like your father -> is this father a donkey?
Study, don't be a donkey like your father -> what I would have guessed (father is a donkey)
Study, don't be a donkey, like your father -> people do talk like that, they add examples afterwards (father isn't a donkey)
