For whatever anxiety brain reason, I can't make myself get to a hairdresser for a trim. I got some good scissors and I'm ready to give cutting my own hair a shot. I fuck up too much, I wear my hair up for work so it's fine.

My suspicion is I'll watch some tutorials, decide it's too much of a hassle, and free of alternatives I'll go to the hairdresser. Or it'll be easy enough I save some money from now on.

I found some on my own, but if anyone has used any in particular and likes it, I'd love a rec.

Wow, thank you so much! This definitely sounds doable. I really really appreciate it

No worries, it fairly straightforward once you get going, just lots of repeating steps and trimming corners.

The only thing that gets tricky for me usually is just how long it takes, but I think that's probably pretty me specific because I have a silly amount of hair and chronic fatigue issues.

Oh crap, I just noticed I removed a few lines here and there while fixing these instructions up to share publically! The bit about lining up your length markers is very important and I've added it back in. Sorry about that!

Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
