I'm vegan, and my food costs are much lower than those of meat eaters (dry beans are much much cheaper than meat). And yes, I not only meet but exceed my daily protein requirements.
Yup, I'm WFPB for round 95% of my home food, except for olive oil, tofu, and the occasional vegan meat. Having a pressure cooker is also a great saver when it comes to batch cooking meals with beans too!
