I have no issue. I know how much pasta my family eats by what it looks like inside of my thumb and index finger when they form a loop. ๐คทโโ๏ธ After a few times you get the hang of it. All you need to do is pay attention to how much you took and how much it is once boiled. ๐ Everyone can do this. Then if course people will eat different amounts depending on hunger and such, but that's what leftovers are for, is what I meant. ๐
This. More precisely, put the tip of your index finger against the joint between the 3nd and 2nd phalanx.
Put the tip wherever it needs to be to measure the amount of pasta you need. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Sometimes I put I it here, sometimes there. After a certain point, you stop measuring in discrete steps and you can just see how much you need. ๐ Just make enough pasta.
I'm not a chef or anything either, just to be clear. We all have this power.
I take it you never serve fusilli or other shapes that aren't long and straight?
All the time โ my kids love oddly-shaped pasta. ๐ Same thing there, you make enough of it, and you can just see how much you need, as long as you pay attention.
