NATO expansionism is the root cause of this war. NATO instigated this war and Russia got baited.

[-] higgsboson@piefed.social 3 points 4 days ago

lol. only took one comment. Scratch a tankie and a vatnik bleeds?

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Better red than a dirty fascist.
You wolfsangel and swastika wearers will go down the way your granpa's went the first time.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

ROFLS you really believe that huh?

even after russia guaranteed ukraine's security in the budapest memorandum?

wow. amazing.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

LOL
There hasn't been a ukraine since the fascist coup where the US regime literally chose who would run that proxy state.
And then broke the Minsk treaties over and over

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 5 days ago
[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

The US invaded Ukraine?

Sorry, that didn't happen.

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 5 days ago

No, but they did promise protection. So far, there has been no protection given, only money.

Problem with talking about USA in this conflict is everytime immediately assumes that anyone accusing USA of anything is automatically supporting Russia.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

To the last ukrainian as Lindsey Graham or even Soros in 93' said.
The US doesn't care about their sucker proxies when they have served their use.
Just like the Kurds and many others.

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

Yeah. But the public is stupid enough to be brainwashed into thinking that the war was just and needed.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

So far, there has been no protection given

just tons and tons of ordinance, from the javelins that stopped the taking of Kiev to the artillery, apcs, aircraft and munitions for everything from autocannons to patriots, yeah, no protection whatsoever.

problem with talking about USA in this conflict are the spineless fucks who keep undermining our support to appease PUTIN. Ukraine deserves more, but we're stymied by the kompromised members of our government.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago
[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

such an outstanding reply, loaded with insight and wisdom.

a belgian quisling... now that's fuckin funny

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 5 days ago

That's my whole point, only money has been given. US troops should have been deployed to Ukraine.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago
[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

Why did the US promise protection then? Bunch of fucking cowards, I guess.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

They have always been cowards and let others do the fighting for them. They say a lot if it benefits them.
Sell them arms.
Get NATO vasals to also buy more arms.
Make Russia spend money on the war.

Anyone who isn't stupid knows they could never guarantee protection.
Except mercs and 'advisors' they will not and can not set one foot on ukrainian soil.
Russia says it is a red line and despite being wildly irresponsible the US won't cause WW3 just yet.

[-] higgsboson@piefed.social 1 points 4 days ago

Silly vatnik, get your kremlin talking points right.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

STFU nazi coward

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

US troops should have been deployed to Ukraine.

what fuckin part about

the spineless fucks who keep undermining our support to appease PUTIN. Ukraine deserves more, but we’re stymied by the kompromised members of our government.

didn't you comprehend pardner? too many big words?

Oh and I assume you're gonna sign up because otherwise you're just volunteering other people's kids for combat. for that matter, why didn't you go? you can go today if you have such a hardon for getting into the fight.

https://www.ildu.com.ua/

something tells me you won't, and tells me you probably never served a moment before this either.

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago

Let's not get into who should go and who should not. It is pointless. US has been deploying troops worldwide since decades, they can easily deploy some in Ukraine but they don’t want to.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Let’s not get into who should go and who should not.

two seconds ago you were saying:

US troops should have been deployed to Ukraine.

what, did your balls shrivel up the moment someone suggested you get up off your ass and help? fucking pogue.

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago

You are missing the point. I am saying let's not talk about which individual US persons should go to fight.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Why? Why are you fine with sending US soldiers to die in europe, but unwilling to volunteer your own skin?

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago

Because I am not from the US...

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

UK? Some nazi Baltic, Fin?
Where do suicidal warmongering idiots wanting WW3 come from?

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago

That is not the point of the discussion

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

OK then.
Either way, nobody should go and fight.
Americans should learn to mind their business.
And meddling in other countries as they are used to has its limits.
Their time is over and will be put in their place.

[-] npdean@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Nobody should go and fight

Perfect but US has meddled too much for far too long to just give up on its commitments. It has to clean up its mess.

They should not start new wars, that is for sure.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

They should not 'clean up'.
Everything they touch tuns to shit and there's even nothing they can do.
They've gotten all they can out of it, the advantages for them I mentioned earlier.
The catasthrophic secondary geopolitical consequences, such as a stronger Russia, BRICS and chism from most of the world with the west they will have to swallow.
Ukraine being lost is just a detail compared to that.

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 2 points 5 days ago

I'll bite. In the 5 years leading up to Russia invading Ukraine, what did NATO do that warrants such a move by Russia?

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

The US/UK NATO have been supporting nazis since WW2.
Operation Aerodynamic specifically for ukraine to cause trouble.
It has always been a strategy and a goal to hurt Russia who they never forgave for beating their fascists.
The horrible Brezinksky doctrine of the US regime followed that line.

" “Even without the Baltic states and Poland, a Russia that retained control over Ukraine could still seek to be the leader of an assertive Eurasian empire.... But without Ukraine and its 52 million fellow Slavs, any attempt by Moscow to rebuild the Eurasian empire was likely to leave Russia entangled alone in protracted conflicts with the nationally and religiously aroused non-Slavs"

From 2014 when they fist tried regime change with the horrible Yuchenko:

The Stratfor news web site, which has close links to the American intelligence apparatus, revived this analysis following the recent struggle for power in Ukraine. In an analysis of recent events, Stratfor concludes that the secession of Ukraine not only weakens Moscow with regard to foreign policy, but also, “without Ukraine, Russia’s political, economic and military survivability are called into question.” The Stratfor report continues: “To say Russia is at a turning point is a gross understatement. Without Ukraine, Russia is doomed to a painful slide into geopolitical obsolescence and ultimately, perhaps even non-existence.”

After that the people voted this puppet out since they knew they had been conned.
After which the US sent billions via NED and other ways to destabilise the country and fund fascists.
This led to the coup.

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 1 points 2 days ago

None of which warrant annexing and invading another country, destroying civilian infrastructure, forced naturalization, etc.

It seems to me that an escalation to war was a desperate move. A weak move at that.

Your description makes it sound like the school bully got it's feelings hurt as everyone started calling them names in the yard. Knowing that it's days of influence are behind them, the next day the bully returned to school with a gun...

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

annexing and invading another country, destroying civilian infrastructure, forced naturalization, etc.

Sounds like you deepththroated the propaganda BS.
Ansd all the rest sounds like frustration from a Russophobe that can't get over NATO and the western vasals losing.
Anyway, not worth my time responding to nonsense.

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Keep yourself together now.

I have no hand in this game. I just see the basic facts. One of them is the invader. The other is the invaded. Regardless of what else is occurring, nothing has convinced me that the invaders were doing it out of goodness of their hearts. Being on Lemmy I've heard a lot from all sides. I'm not on anyone's side but I can tell you the invaders were the aggressor. You can paint whatever picture you want, but it'll always be one invaded the other.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

You're like those hasbara snakes who starts counting from oct 7 you start counting from when Russia finally intervened.
Where were all those people when those nazis burnt 47 people alive bcs they protested the coup in Odessa in 2014?.
And somehow they missed the 8 years of ethnic cleansing and bombing of civilians too.
Typical western hypocrites with their selective indignation.
Bye now

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 1 points 2 days ago

The sad thing is that people think things like that warrants all out war. How many more people need to die in order to prevent people from dieing? It's a fallacy, and I don't believe for a second that this war is based on saving lives.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

In case you don't get it, the ukro army bombing 35+ % of their civilians is worse than war.
So save your crocodile tears about "How many more people need to die" hypocrite.
You are a really stubid bot

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 1 points 2 days ago

Why are you trying to deflect onto Ukraine. I'm sure it's atrocities all round, that isn't the point. Russia invaded. Russia are the aggressor. Russia are the invaders. No argument there I imagine. I'm not a hypocrite as you are arguing an entirely different point in an attempt of whataboutism. Perhaps if Russia had not of invaded, all this would have been avoided no? Who knows what bright future we may have had without countries invading other countries like time of old. We will never learn, especially with people like yourself giving justification for their efforts.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

You're repeating yourself bot, and deflectin from the guilty one, the US proxy nazis that started the violence. Perhaps if the US han't organised a fascist coup this could've been avoided.
or even if they kept their corrupt nazi state without the ukranians that didn't want to live under their regime without being ethnically cleansed this could've been avoided.
Or if they didn't continously break the Minsk accords this could've been avoided.
Now I'm blocking you, you have nothing of value to say bot, just clihé and distorted propaganda garbage.

[-] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Your steadfast defending of the aggressors in this conflict is somewhat commendable, or at least consistent. Hope you eventually find enlightenment.

PS. Not a bot. Just a different opinion.

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
