Well, I commuted 1:45 each way, every weekday, for about 10 years. I guess that law did not apply to me.

I'm assuming you weren't too happy about having to waste nearly four hours of your day in commuting though, which is the point of the article. People are satisfied with a commute of up to 30min each way, any longer and it starts to annoy them

I guess it’s ‘on average’ - I, for example, have managed to have a sub 30 min commute for most of my 20+ years career, and that on public transport or by bike. It’s been mostly by accident rather than design, but it’s been a massive blessing.
