I mean im guessing its because it may not be as profitable, or atleast at first, boycotts or directly just capitalism fucking everything up? i legit always imagine aliens seeing us still use coal while having DISCOVERED IN 1932

Why wouldn't solar and wind longer? They're simpler systems, much less has to be maintained
Because solar panels degrade (down to 80% aber ~25 years) and wind turbines are also only engineered for ~30 years.
You could use them for longer, but it usually makes more economic sense to dump/recycle them and put up new ones, which usually produce quite a bit more power.
