FTFY: That's what Hitler ~~tried to do~~ did.
Trump is following the Nazi Germany playbook by the letter. I'd be careful as a member of the Congress or Senate, because one key even is still missing from the timeline: Hitler had the Reichstag (German parliament back then) burned down.
Though he did encourage a literal mass attack on the Capitol, so half-credit, at least.
